Topic:   new component links disappear

By: JoFraPosted on: Jul 1 2021 at 10:35:37 AM
When I create a new component in miniMRP and add the link to the datasheet under the "Links" tab and save the component the link does not appear when I close and re-open the component. If I add the link again then it seems to save in the database.

I am running miniMRP Version 5.0.42.0

Update- It appears this only happens when I add the Link prior to adding Supplier information.

5.0.42 is quite old

I'm not saying this has been fixed but please download latest version and see if the problem still exists. Do come back and tell us. Thanks.

I've noticed the same problem as JoFra. Here is another odd behavior that may be related.

Using 5.0.115 with a MS SQL Server backend, but I've noticed the following on several older versions of v5

1. Click [Create New Component].
2. Use the Suppliers tab to add a supplier or two. (By not be relevant, but I was switching back and forth to another MiniMRP tab to copy similar information from an existing component.)
3. Switch to the new component's Links tab.
4. Notice that the Links tab content is missing the [Link address] column, [Link Name] column, and the [Add a Link] button.
5. Switch to the Suppliers tab.
6. Click [Save].
7. Switch to the Links tab. Now the [Link address] column, [Link Name] column and [Add a Link] button are present as expected.

Thanks. Ken. I can confirm your findings. When creating a new item the Links tab is empty and links can't be added till the new item has been saved (created).

The only fix here would be for MiniMRP to keep the links tab hidden until the new item has been saved.

I'll have this done soon.
