In the All Components grid double click on an item's part number. This opens the Item Detail window for that part.

In the item detail window you have a row of tabs across the middle of the window. One of them is 'Links'.

Using that Links tab you can connect to all manner of external documents, drawinfs, pictures and even remote content such as manufacturers data sheet etc.

If you connect to a picture it doesn't copy the picture into the database. it just creates a link so you can get to the picture easily.

Now go back to the All Components grid. You should see a new column with a clickable icon in it wherever there's any linked documents. CLick the icon. If there's only one linked document it'll open. If there's multiple linked document you'll get a list allowing you to select one.

For electronic parts, P/Ns can be long and complex - where an alpha-numeric suffix denotes the package type. When selecting parts from a list (to form an assembly or BoM), it would be extremely helpful to see a visual of the package type, in order to avoid mistakes.

Are there any plans to add a photo feature to the database, in the future?

Thanks, Graham

Not yet.

In some other pats of MiniMRP we show a small clickable icon that can be clicked to open an image of the component. If we added such a clickable link to the component picker in the parts list editor would that be acceptable?
