We assemble printed circuit boards, often with many hundreds of components on each board. When making revisions to a board I find it really cumbersome to find a particular component in a part list. It would be awesome to have a search/find button in the parts list editor to search for a specific part and have it focus on that line. Maybe even a function (F3) for stepping between multiple matches =)

I agree that it is cumbersome to visually search a number. A simple workaround (to me anyway) is to export and import into Excel the highest level BOM. Then, use Excel to find things. If you have a dummy BOM that contains every PCBA or product you build, that exported BOM can be your best friend.
