Topic:   Work Order "build" not reducing components in inventory

By: TNWPosted on: Sep 28 2023 at 07:52:08 AM
I am running version 5.0.137.0
I have a work order that has gone through the process steps of allocating, issuing, and building. The number of on hand assemblies for that work order has increased, but the components that make up the assembly have not been reduced. To add insult to injury, one of the work orders did not get processed (only up to issue and not to build). The Customer order for the assembly was delivered. Now my stock report value is over by the amount of the not-built work order. If I build the work order, the new stock value just gets bigger. How do I fix this so my stock value is where it should be?

When a work order goes through the "Issued/WIP" stage then components are taken out of the inventory. Quantities should be reduced.

There are times when that won't happen.

1. If components are inside a CSAS sub assembly. In this case it is the CSAS SubAssembly that is taken out of the inventory. MiniMRP assumes that you have built or will build CSAS sub assemblies on a separate work order.

2. If components are type "MISC" then they will not be taken out of your inventory.

Does either of the above explain it?

If not please email

So if I took my work order through Issue/WIP last week and today I go to "Completed" then I won't see the onhand quantities of components going down today because the quantities went down last week at the "Issue" stage?

Other BOM/Work Order software I've used took components out at the completed stage so I expected minimrp to do the same. But I can see the logic in your method.
